Wind River Alpine Archaeology - Matt Stirn

Between 2006 and 2012 the Office of the Wyoming State Archaeologist and Colorado State University conducted archaeological research in the remote Fitzpatrick Wilderness of Wyoming's Wind River Range. The purpose of this work was to identify new prehistoric high-elevation sites and understand how past cultures adapted to and lived in the alpine zone. I joined this project as a researcher and photographer to document the discoveries and lifestyles of wilderness fieldwork
